SPRING 2025 REGISTRATION

****There are still spots in Rooke and T-Ball Divisions.  All others are full. ****

Welcome to Bellaire Little League - Spring Registration!

Are you ready for an exciting season of youth baseball!!? Look no further than Bellaire Little League! Spring Registration is open November 4th-December 15, and we can't wait to welcome new and returning players and families to our baseball community.

League Age:  Your player’s league age is determined by the Little League Baseball® and Little League Softball® Age Charts. The dates for baseball and softball are different, but each determines the division in which your Little Leaguer will play this season. The Age Determination Date for a Little League Baseball player is the actual age of a child on August 31 of the current year. The Age Determination Date for a Little League Softball player is the actual age of a child on December 31 of the previous year.

USE THIS HANDY AGE CALCULATOR to determine which league your child should be in.

T-BALL

T-Ball is usually a family’s first introduction to BLL.

Teeball players use bats and balls designated specifically with safety in mind. Umpires are not used because the score is not kept and outs are not recorded. Coaches are allowed on the field during play to help players with alertness and defensive positioning.

All practices and games are held on Gee Field at Horn Elementary. Teams meet twice each week: Saturday and either Monday and Wednesday, starting at either 5:00pm or 6:10pm. Practices and games typically last 60 minutes.

Regardless of your baseball experience, we strongly encourage you to apply to volunteer as a coach or some other volunteer position within our league. While Bellaire Little League usually contracts with professional coaches to provide skilled coaching assistants to help run practices and games during the Tee Ball season, parents play a crucial role in making Tee Ball a positive experience for their children and the foundation for continued participation in our league for years to come.

ROOKIE BALL

Rookie Ball is BLL’s version of "half Tee Ball and half pitching machine.” The ball is pitched at 28 mph from a machine positioned on the grass in front of the mound, but in the event of three missed swings, a hitter will be given the chance to hit from a batting tee. This level uses a semi-soft ball that is not quite as hard as a regular baseball. While the score is not kept, the hitter and runners may be called out by the coaches and returned to the dugout. Two coaches are allowed on the field to help with alertness and defensive positioning.

All practices and games are held at Horn Elementary (Fox Field, Kindle Field, and Gee Field). Teams meet twice each week on Saturdays and Tuesdays or Thursdays beginning at 5:00pm or 6:30pm. Practices and games typically last 75 minutes.

TEXAS LEAGUE

Texas League is BLL’s primary pitching machine league. The ball is pitched at 38mph from a machine positioned at the standard Little League distance of

46 feet. Players use a regular (hard) little league baseball. At least one umpire is used for every game. Field scoreboards are turned on, win-loss records are tracked, and a competitive post-season tournament is the highlight of every season.

All practices and games are held at Horn Elementary (Fox Field and Kindle Field) or Tiras Field. Teams meet three times each week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays or Saturday beginning at 5:30pm or 7:00pm. Practices and games last 90 minutes, but players are also expected to arrive for warmups approximately 45 minutes before every game.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

National League (Minors) is BLL’s entry-level kid pitch division. Most games and practices are held at Weston Field or Tiras Field, with some practices at Bayland Field as well. Teams meet three times each week on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Saturdays, with practices beginning at 5:30pm or 7:00pm and games beginning at 5:30pm and 7:15pm. Practices and games last 90 minutes, but players are also expected to arrive for warmups approximately 45-60 minutes before every game. A competitive playoff tournament is held at the end of the regular season.

AMERICAN LEAGUE

American League (Majors) is our highest kid pitch division. All practices and games are held at Weston Field or Tiras Field. Teams meet 3-4 times each week on Mondays Wednesdays, Fridays and option Saturday. Practices begin at either 5:30pm or 7:00pm, while games begin at either 5:30pm or 7:30pm. Practices and games typically last 90-100 minutes, but players are also expected to arrive for warmups approximately 45-60 minutes before every game. A competitive playoff tournament is held at the end of the regular season.
